Swing Invent Holdings

Swing Invent Holdings designs swing pedal controls for hydraulic shovels and draglines, addressing repetitive strain injuries caused by joystick operation. Their technology reduces operator fatigue and enhances efficiency. Already installed in 60 percent of draglines in Australia, the company is working with global equipment manufacturers to expand adoption in hydraulic shovels.

Metalogenia Australia 

MTG has developed smart ground engaging tools (GET) for hydraulic excavators, using sensors to track wear, detect detachment, and optimise digging performance. The system improves efficiency and reduces downtime, with a fast return on investment. Adoption is challenged by competition from other digital tools and industry hesitation toward new technology.

Pointerra

Pointerra3D provides a cloud-based geospatial platform for real-time data processing, analysis, and visualisation in mining. It integrates LiDAR, photogrammetry, and AI to improve exploration, stockpile management, and infrastructure monitoring. The platform eliminates data silos, speeds up decision-making, and reduces costs while enabling seamless collaboration and easy system integration.

Wulguru Technical Services 

Wulguru Technical Services is a spatial and environmental consultancy supporting the resources sector. Using advanced spatial sciences and technology, the company provides mapping, land assessment, approvals, and compliance services for exploration, mining, remediation, and decarbonisation projects. They aim to showcase their capabilities to help the sector grow sustainably.

WearVue 

WearVue has developed colour-changing wear indicators that provide real-time, visual assessments of equipment wear, eliminating the need for manual inspections. This technology improves safety, reduces downtime, and optimises maintenance scheduling. Currently in use at BHP, WearVue is expanding into mining, construction, and manufacturing. Future developments include AI integration for predictive maintenance, with international expansion plans underway.

University of Adelaide - Fluorine Sensor

The University of Adelaide has developed a handheld fluorescence-based sensor for real-time fluorine contamination detection in coal. This sensor improves operational efficiency by eliminating delays from lab testing, protecting equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing coal marketability. Further investment and partnerships are needed for commercialisation.

University of Adelaide - MOVE Toolkit

The MOVE Toolkit, developed with BHP and IGO, provides a techno-economic analysis tool for mine electrification. It helps companies plan and optimise the adoption of electric haul trucks, charging infrastructure, and renewable energy to minimise costs and emissions while maintaining operational efficiency. The project requires further investment for commercial rollout.

Stimula Strategic Consulting 

Stimula is working with FitWork Chile to commercialise FitIris, an AI-driven eye monitoring solution that detects cognitive impairment and fatigue in workers. Using infrared sensors and machine learning, FitIris provides real-time assessments, reducing accident risks and improving worker safety, productivity, and compliance. The solution is currently in pilot phase, with plans for expansion.

Loop Hydrometallurgy 

Loop Hydrometallurgy is commercialising the Halion Loop™, a process for producing high-purity copper on-site using saltwater-based extraction. This innovation reduces energy consumption, operating costs, and carbon footprint while enabling the processing of lower-grade and complex ores. The company is seeking investment and partnerships to advance commercialisation.

GreymanOPS provides integrated pest management for mine sites using thermal drones to detect, track, and remove feral animals such as pigs and dogs. Their services improve workplace safety, reduce biosecurity risks, and support environmental rehabilitation. The company is focused on raising awareness of its solutions in the mining sector.

Theia provides dynamic simulation modelling for mining operations, focusing on decarbonisation strategies. Their platform enables mining companies to assess fleet electrification, charging infrastructure, and renewable energy integration, helping avoid costly physical pilots. With established industry partnerships and a growing revenue stream, Theia is scaling its solution and will present proof-of-concept results at GRX25.

Optrix has developed ARDI, a DataOps platform that consolidates and visualises digital information from mining machines and processes in real time. It provides mining companies with a single source of truth for digital data, enabling improved decision-making, remote operational monitoring, and machine learning applications to optimise processing efficiency.

StratumAI’s SAIGE technology uses machine learning to create highly accurate 3D models for mine planning and ore control, outperforming traditional Kriging models. It improves drilling, resource classification, and processing efficiency while reducing waste.
