Sonia Winter is currently part of the Executive Leadership team for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) as the General Manager Planning Technical & Environment - where she manages the BMA portfolio in areas such as Strategic Planning and Studies, Heritage, Approvals, Sustainability, Technical, Data Stewardship, and Planning Transformation Projects.  

Sonia started in the industry 30 years ago and has held a number of technical and operational leadership positions across BHP, including more recently General Manager of one of BHPs coal mining operations, and Global Head of Resource Engineering Excellence - spanning multiple commodities.

Sonia has been recognised for her long-term industry contribution by being awarded the QRC/WIMARQ 2024 Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources.
