Adam Lancey
Adam Lancey has over 23 years of experience in the mining industry, having held roles in Finance, Business Improvement, Operations and Logistics.
After holding multiple leadership roles at BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal Mine in the NSW Hunter Valley, including General Manager and Vice President New South Wales Energy Coal (NSWEC), Adam was appointed BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Asset President in November 2023.
In this role Adam is responsible for the safe operations of BMA’s five metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, rail infrastructure, Moranbah Airport and the Hay Point Coal Terminal in Mackay.
Adam also holds several Board positions within the mining industry including President of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), the peak industry association representing Queensland’s minerals and energy organisations.
Adam is a passionate diversity advocate and has been an active member of the NSW Women in Mining Network (WIMnet) for a number of years. He has previously been awarded the prestigious NSW Diversity Champion Award by the NSW Minerals Council for his work mentoring women in the sector and is currently participating in Executive Women in Resources Leadership Mentoring Program for 2025.
Adam is married to his wife Kristin and they have two daughters. Adam is keen to ensure Madison and Zali have the opportunity to choose as many career pathways as possible, including the mining industry.
