Austmine and International Mining Sign MoU to Advance Mining Technology and Innovation.
Austmine, the leading industry association for the mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) sector, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Mining and its events arm, International Mining Events. This partnership aims to foster global growth within the mining technology and innovation ecosystem.
The signing took place on the eve of MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This prestigious event, running from 24-26 September, featured significant participation from Australian METS companies, with over 30 exhibitors showcased in a dedicated 4,000 ft² Australian Pavilion.
As a global mining publication focused on technology and innovation, International Mining has become a leading industry voice, highlighting advances that are key to achieving mining’s net-zero goals, among others.
International Mining Events, meanwhile, has established the world’s only global event focused on mine electrification, The Electric Mine, which, in its five-year history, has attracted more than 2,000 delegates across four international locations, namely Canada, Sweden, the USA and Australia, with Santiago, Chile the next destination from 13-15 May, 2025.
Austmine and International Mining will collaborate in several key technology and innovation areas, leveraging their respective strengths. This collaboration includes cross-participation and promotion of the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX), Copper to the World, and The Electric Mine conference series. The partnership will also extend to contributions in METS-related articles within International Mining.
The Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX), evolving from the Austmine Conference, is now held in partnership with AusIMM. GRX25, themed ‘Embracing a New Era,’ will take place in Brisbane, Australia, from 20-22 May 2025. This event will convene global leaders, innovators, and decision-makers in the mining sector to explore the latest technological advancements, sustainable practices, and collaborative efforts shaping the future of the industry.
Paul Moore, Director of International Mining and International Mining Events, said: “Having collaborated informally with Austmine in the past, it is great to establish this MoU now at a time when the global mining technology space is undergoing an intense period of growth and change. The mining conference and event space is highly competitive, but the value brought to the mining industry by those with the right focus and scope is significant. This partnership will build on the important work we are doing in the mine electrification and decarbonisation space with The Electric Mine conference series, as well as enhance our industry coverage in International Mining.”
Austmine and International Mining are poised to deliver enhanced value to the METS community and the broader mining industry through this collaboration. Both organisations are committed to leveraging their combined expertise to advance critical industry initiatives, support sustainable practices, and foster global partnerships that will shape the future of mining. This MoU marks a significant milestone in their shared mission to lead the global mining sector towards a more innovative, efficient, and sustainable future.
